Wolfsin was established in New Zealand and the United Kingdom in late 2017 in answer to a growing need for a more independent thinking brand. For the first few years we reworked, improved and rebranded a number of DMR radios already on the market in countries other than the UK or NZ. This takes an inordinate amount of time and effort to do correctly, thousands of hours is normal. We tested and re-tested dozens of makes and models of DMR two way radio and filtered these down to about eight models which made the grade. By 2019 we had our model line up ready to go, then came COVID 19. Some models stopped production, others had supply problems but we carried on. Wolfsin gives names to their radio models as well as codifying numbers, therefore we have HUSKY, GRIZZLY, KODIAK, SWIFT, K9, ORCA and one or two more coming in 2025. The good news is that from 2025 Wolfsin is embedded with only two factories and all our ALPHA & DELTA range are improved and bespoke.

When we first decided to "buck the trend" and give our radio products names rather than numbers it is fair to say that users and dealers alike found it awkward to order ten GRIZZLY'S or two HUSKY'S! Now it is a sign of how unique Wolfsin is - why have a number when you can have a GRIZZLY or a HUSKY or a K9..... WOLFSIN: BORN TOUGH TO WORK HARD.
