The ALASKAN HUSKY is a compact, heavy duty DMR digital radio available in UHF and VHF.
IP68 submersible to 1.2M for 40 minutes or more and meeting or bettering MIL SPEC 810 G+ meaning this HUSKY is as at home in any industrial or commercial application as it is in the forests and mountains. The ALASKAN gains a 6/10 on our DTAP tests which means that even after submersion in water the Audio set up on the ALASKAN will be operational within 20 minutes or less.

The ALASKAN HUSKY comes in two models the "S" non keypad and the "SK" short keypad both are IP68 and Mil Spec G+ rated. The Alaskan is part of our THETA range, Theta standing and being for TOUGH, very TOUGH. The Alaskan has a thickened alloy chassis encased in 4.25 grade poly-carbonate enclosure, the PTT switch cover plate is a hardened plastic with a 95% of area PTT operation, making the Alaskan both very tough and very easy to use.

The ALASKAN HUSKY is a new design with an eye on the mid tier, heavier duty industrial market area. The alloy chassis is thickened so as to better stand drops and knocks, the poly-carbonate case is a 4.25 rated case able to shrug of knocks, drops and bumps.
The ALASKAN HUSKY specification is impressive by any standard, IP68 is standard, Mil Spec 810 G+ is standard and a 2200 mAh Li-Ion battery is standard.

The ALASKAN HUSKY PTT cover plate has a 95% operational efficiency, simply put the PTT will operate no matter where on the PTT cover plate you press. This makes operation in the cold, dark, wet and windy environments easy and reliable even when wearing gloves.
A full 55mm Heavy duty, highly sprung, screw in belt clip ensure that the GRIZZLY G2 will stay on your belt or rucksack.
The ALASKAN HUSKY is available to order in different case colours to suit various safety and other applications.

DTAP: Almost all modern digital radios are designed with small to very small mic holes and horizontal speaker grills which can simple clog up with rain, water or other liquids. This can and does reduce the effective spoken to mic audio input by up to 95%, further the design of many of the radio case speaker grills also trap water in the speaker chamber thus making the already greatly reduced transmitted audio, when received, even quieter! In other radios this can be so quiet that the received audio simply cannot be heard and they rate a 1/10.
The ALASKAN HUSKY has been designed to allow any water trapped in the mic hole or speaker chamber to be simply cleared by a series of double tap of the radio against the users leg or hand and may take up to 20 minutes to operational again - we call this double tap or its DTAP rating which for the ALASKAN is a highly respectful 6/10.

The ALASKAN HUSKY is available in both UHF and VHF bands and comes standard with a large capacity 2200mAh battery, giving a 17.0 hour duty cycle.
This 2200mAh lithium Ion high capacity battery is standard on the ALASKAN HUSKY with a veritable tour de force 2600 & 3000mAh battery available as options.
The ALASKAN HUSKY feels as if carved from granite with a solid feel of quality whilst being compact in size it weighs in at only 315g.
As per the GRIZZLY G2, the ALASKAN H4 uses a dedicated noise reduction IC which is fitted as standard so as to quieten background noise and a software driven speaker optimiser is also a programming option to enhance audio quality and loudness/volume.
The ALASKAN HUSKY has two side function buttons which can be programmed to enable features such as scan, vox etc. A discreet but larger orange top mounted button is reserved for emergency call.
The ALASKAN HUSKY was designed to make sense of the moto "Everything you need,
nothing you don't", this is a two way radio designed for hard work, yet its design lines are classical and touches like a full colour OLED display lived the ALASKAN above the lesser specified entry/mid level radios.
Being an ALASKAN HUSKY users will find that it goes further, last longer and is more capable in the worst of weathers and conditions than any other non HUSKY two way radio.
