The 2026/27 second generation Kodiak is coming soon! This Kodiak is tougher, more rugged, much louder, and much more reliable than ever before.
This KODIAK 2 is Designed to operate in the wettest, coldest and most miserable of conditions!
With IP68 and Mil Spec H and with a near 20/20 AQUAR & DTAP capability the KODIAK 2 will keep operating in the most adverse wet conditions.
In keeping with the Alaskan moto of "Everything you need, nothing you don't" The KODIAK 2 concentrates on its real work abilities, these being super loud & clear audio, very tough & rugged case design, massive battery capacity with a huge duty cycle, highly tactile PTT and knurled on/off/channel knobs (best in the industry), efficient aerial design to name a few.
The KODIAK 2 has all that you need with an effective 2000mW of BTL driven audio, enhanced by AI noise reduction and a speaker grill and mic design that rates 20/20 in terms of our DTAP & AQUAR rating.

What is DTAP?
Everything you need, nothing you don't
Almost all modern digital radios are designed with small to very small mic holes and horizontal speaker grills which can simple clog up with rain, water or other liquids. This can and does reduce the effective spoken to mic audio input by up to 95%, further the design of many of the radio case speaker grills also trap water in the speaker chamber thus making the already greatly reduced transmitted audio, when received, even quieter! In other radios this can be so quiet that the received audio simply cannot be heard.
Like the G2 Grizzly the KODIAK 2 has been designed to allow any water trapped in the mic hole or speaker chamber to be simply cleared by a double tap of the radio against the users leg or hand - we call this double tap or DTAP.

The KODIAK 2 is narrower by around 6mm than the previous KODIAK yet is more rugged, tougher and louder than is predecessor.
The KODIAK 2 specification is impressive by any standard, IP68 as standard, Mil Spec 810 H as standard and a MASSIVE 3000mAh Li-Ion battery as standard.
The KODIAK PTT cover has the highest raised knobbles of any PTT so as to be easy to find and use in the dark, wet or frozen conditions, even with gloves on!
A full 60mm Heavy duty, highly sprung, slip in belt clip ensure that the KODIAK will stay on your belt or rucksack.

The KODIAK 2 is available in both UHF and VHF bands and comes standard with a massive capacity 3000mAh battery (slimline 2000mAh option).
This battery is a tour de force, able to be charged from the supplied smart charger pod or directly from the PSU into a C type charger socket in the base of the battery, which is covered with a rubber plug to ensure its high IP rating. This KODIAK can be charged from your laptop or power bank in an emergency situation.

The KODIAK 2 is fitted with our latest and unique knurled knob fittings for both the on/off volume and channel switches. These super tough and super grippy knobs ensure secure use of these controls in the wet, cold or freezing conditions, even with gloves on!
A raised collar protects the on/off knob and the aerial is positioned so as to protect the channel selector knob.

The KODIAK 2 has 2 side function buttons which can be programmed to enable features such as scan, vox etc. A discreet orange top mounted button is reserved for emergency call.
Bluetooth is standard with the KODIAK 2 and it is fully aligned to operate with our IP66 remote speaker mic (see accessories) or indeed any other quality PTT aligned Bluetooth audio/TX device.

An AI noise reduction IC is fitted as standard so as to quieten background noise and GPS is an available option if required.
A recording IC is also an available option, with up to 300 hours of recording capacity. More information coming soon.
